Our very own Studio Number One designers will be having their original art on view at Power to the Parks, the upcoming week-long fundraising group exhibition to benefit the National Parks Conservation Association, in collaboration with Parks Project.

Introducing Camilla Lonis - Studio Number One’s Design Director

Q. Where are you from?

A. The Netherlands. I’m half Irish, half Dutch.

Q. What’s your favorite part of working at SNO?

A. Making activist art gives me a lot of energy!

Q. How would you describe your art practice?

A. Power and vulnerability. Each piece is make out of a collection of abstract patterns and drawings, some inspired by op art and avant-garde fashion.

Q. What do you like to listen to while you’re working? A.

At the moment: The Cramps, Bauhaus, The Cure, The KVB, The Stooges, True Widow.

Q. What inspired your artwork for the show?

A. Surrounding to nature, and melting into a zen nothingness. The structures are inspired by darker collections from Valentino, Elie Saab and Moschino.

Q. Do you have a favorite national park?

A. Muir Woods - Though lots of exploring left to do!
