Our very own Studio Number One designers will be having their original art on view at Power to the Parks, the upcoming week-long fundraising group exhibition to benefit the National Parks Conservation Association, in collaboration with Parks Project.

Introducing Thomas Wimberly - Studio Number One’s Graphic Designer

Q. Where are you from?

A. Louisiana, specifically just south of Baton Rouge.

Q. What’s your favorite part of working at SNO?

A. Building work that I can stand behind ethically.

Q. How would you describe your art practice?

A. Imagery condensed down to their simpler forms that can then act as a vehicle for discussion on current events and issues.

Q. What do you like to listen to while you’re working?

A. Music with a lot of energy. Oftentimes that means punk and rap.

Q. What inspired your artwork for the show?

A. The selflessness of certain park employees that chose to work without pay during the government shutdown. People who did what needed to be done - regardless.

Q. Do you have a favorite national park?

A. I really dig all of the paranormal occurrences that have been reported at Yellowstone.
