OVERVIEW:

Studio Number One worked with an Ireland-based Whiskey company, the Sexton, to create a new brand identity based entirely around their story and how it ties into their iconic hexagonal bottle and the liquor that it holds within it.

The Sexton is a popular, accessible Irish Single Malt Whiskey known for its distinct hexagonal black bottle and rich sherry-cask finish. Developed by master blender Alex Thomas, it is crafted from 100% malted barley, triple-distilled, and aged in Oloroso sherry casks. It offers a sweet, fruity, and nutty profile, making it a good choice for sipping or cocktails.

SNO designed The Sexton’s brand identity to reflect its sophisticated style while also introducing a world that moves and lives beyond the dark. The creative direction for the branding was based around Irish folklore and mythological elements while using certain features of the iconic bottle as a framing device for marketing purposes. Using the brands existing colors and adding certain effects to each illustration hones in on the idea of ‘Life in The Dark’. Giving the overall brand a unique look without losing it’s originality.
